About me
Hi and welcome to my profile! I aim to provide a high-quality service offering professional, comfortable and confidential Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I currently offer 1:1 CBT sessions via face-to-face at my therapy room in central Bromsgrove or remotely by Teams video or telephone, depending on preference.
I am a fully accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist with the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapists (BABCP), the lead regulatory body for CBT practitioners. I am also a registered graduate member of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
I have 21 years experience working in the fields of both mental health and addictions, providing structured evidence-based psychological treatment. Prior to my private psychotherapy practice, I worked as a CBT Therapist within NHS Primary Care Mental Health, providing both 1:1 and group sessions of psychological therapy within GP surgeries and other community venues. As part of my private practice, I also worked as sessional therapist for 5 years at The Priory. I have specialist interests in working with neurodivergence, such as ADHD and also substance misuse addictions.
During my career I have worked within a variety of clinical settings, such as NHS and private sector Mental Health Services, Community Drug & Alcohol Teams, HM Prison Service, Probation Service, Youth Offending Teams and Magistrate/Crown Courts. As a result, I have experience of working with a variety of client groups and age ranges, from young people to older adults. I am also experienced in providing both individual therapy and group work sessions.
As part of my role, I am also a clinical supervisor. I offer both 1:1 and group supervision to qualified professionals and trainee therapists. I have experience of supervising trainee CBT Therapists at the University of Birmingham, Coventry University and University of Derby. In addition, I provide clinical skills supervision to trainee and qualified EMHP's and PWP's, enabling facilitation of group learning.
As a registered CBT practitioner, I am required to adhere to strict standards of practice and professional codes of conduct. For more information on professional codes of conduct, please see the websites of the appropriate professional bodies.
