About me

I am Professor of Surgery and delighted to receive an MBE in the King's New Years Honours List for services to surgery. I am a consultant surgeon with 30 years experience in laparoscopic surgery (keyhole) having performed more than 10,000 laparoscopic procedures which includes gallbladder surgery (cholecystectomy) and hernia surgery such as inguinal hernias and incisional hernias. I have a special interest in keyhole hernia surgery, gall bladder removal and surgery for groin pain, groin strain or sportsmans hernia also known as Gilmore's Groin. I have a busy gallstone removal practice in Leicester and a busy hernia repair practice. I have been on the faculty of many international hernia congresses both in Europe and the USA. I run a hernia course in Leicester 3 times a year teaching other consultants how to perform safe laparoscopic surgery. I offer a personalised approach to surgery and would be happy to offer you a face-to-face consultation or if more convenient either a telephone or Zoom consultation.
