About me
Mr Peng Wong qualified from University of Bristol in 1999 and trained in general and vascular surgery in the Northeast of England. He was appointed as a Consultant Vascular Surgeon at James Cook University Hospital in 2012.
He manages a busy NHS practice and has special interests in venous and peripheral arterial disease. Mr Wong can provide a fully NICE compliant and customised varicose vein treatment for his patients (including radiofrequency ablation, foam sclerotherapy and open surgery).
He is a Regional Surgical Advisor for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and Specialist Advisor to Care Quality Commission (CQC). He is also an Associate Clinical Lecturer and Honorary Associate Fellow at Newcastle University and the previous Course Director of the Basic Surgical Skills course at James Cook University Hospital. Peng is currently an examiner for the Fellowship of Royal College of Surgeons (Intercollegiate Board in Vascular Surgery) and Fellowship of European Board of Vascular Surgery (European Union Medical Specialists).
