About me
I treats and manages all common health problems in children and has special interest in paediatric neurology, epilepsy, childhood headache disorders including migraine and neurodisability.
I have over 25 years of experience working with children. I graduated from Indore, India, and completed my post-graduation training in paediatrics from prestigious Bombay University where I obtained MD in Paediatrics. I then moved to the UK and did my further training in Yorkshire and Norwich before taking up the Consultant Paediatrician post at the Hull Royal Infirmary.
I have special interest in Paediatric neurology which I have been practising for the past 12 years. I deal with all kinds of neurological problems in children, particularly problems of headache, funny turns, epilepsy, tics, Tourette syndrome, Idiopathic intracranial hypertension, functional neurological disorder, developmental delay, movement disorder and neuromuscular problem. I runs regular specialist clinics in childhood epilepsy, general neurology, headache, cerebral palsy, neuromuscular disorders along with general paediatrics in his NHS practice.
In addition I have experience in managing wide general paediatric conditions including abdominal pain or cramps, gastro?oesophageal reflux disease (acid reflux), cow's milk protein allergy, constipation, urinary tract infections, breathing difficulties, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue or tiredness, PoTS, dizziness, chest pain, palpitations, leg pain, neck lumps, back pain, and bedwetting, among others.
I have keen interest in teaching. I regularly teach in the Yorkshire Deanery MRCPCH clinical Course, Yorkshire Deanery SPRInT (Specialised Paediatric Regional Innovative Training) for ST6-ST6 trainees, British Paediatric Neurology Association run headache( CHaT) and epilepsy courses (PET). I am also an EPALS course instructor. I delivered educational lectures and webinars for general practitioners( GP) on various child health related topics.
I am the current joint secretary of the BPNA(British Paediatric Neurology Association) CHaN( Childhood Headache Network) and Steering committee member of BPNA CHaT course ( Childhood Headache) .Additionally, I am revalidation and appraisal Lead at Hull University Teaching Hospitals and had previously served as Audit lead, Clinical Lead for Paediatrics and RCPCH College Tutor at Hull University Teaching Hospitals. I am also an MRCPCH Examiner Elect.
I have participated in developing delphi consensus recommendations for assessment and management of Idiopathic intracranial Hypertension in children and young people.
