About me

Mr Hilal Fareed FRCS (T&O) is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with extensive experience in all aspects of orthopaedic and trauma surgery. He has a particular interest in hip and knee surgery, especially joint replacement surgery, arthroscopic knee surgery, the management of long bone fractures, and musculoskeletal trauma. Additionally, he treats children with common paediatric orthopaedic conditions.

Mr Fareed obtained his medical degree and M.S. in orthopaedic surgery from the renowned Aligarh Muslim University in India. After completing his training and working as a consultant in India, he moved to the UK under the Overseas Doctors Training Scheme of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He trained as a registrar in the North West of England, where he obtained his MCh Orth degree from the University of Liverpool. Subsequently, he served as a senior registrar at Heatherwood Hospital in Ascot and held various positions at the West Middlesex University Hospital in London. After passing the Intercollegiate Specialty Examination in Trauma and Orthopaedics (Edinburgh) and gaining entry to the GMC�s Specialist Register, he worked for a considerable period as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at West Middlesex University Hospital. He now works at St Mary's Hospital, Isle of Wight NHS Trust, as a consultant hip and knee surgeon.

Mr Fareed is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the Royal Society of Medicine (RSM). He is a member of the Orthopaedic Council of the RSM. He has a keen interest in the postgraduate and undergraduate teaching and training of doctors and has previously been an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at Imperial College London.
Having worked as an orthopaedic surgeon in India, the Middle East, and the UK, Mr Fareed is widely experienced and has a growing practice providing second opinions for patients from all over the world. In addition, he also has a medico-legal practice as an expert in trauma and orthopaedics cases.

Mr Fareed undertakes private work in London and on the Isle of Wight with various health providers, including the Circle Health Group, Phoenix Hospital Group, and the Mottistone Suite.

Mr Fareed is fluent in English, Urdu, and Hindi, and has a basic knowledge of Arabic and Farsi.
