About me
Fernando Lopes is a Cognitive Behaviour Psychotherapist who is about to complete 30 years of experience working with psychological and emotional difficulties including addictions/substance misuse, depression, anxiety, PTSD, trauma and trauma related problems, and personality disorders.
Fernando’s work and experience extends across a wide range of individual and group treatments and over the years he has worked in the NHS and private sector.
At present Fernando receives referrals from the NHS/PHP services, private sector organisations such as Onebright/CBT Clinics and private referrals.
As a Cognitive Behaviour Psychotherapist, Fernando has developed expertise and experience in a wide range of emotional and psychological disorders both with adolescents and adults alike. He has been a fully accredited member of the British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) since 2013.
Fernando has trained and developed skills and knowledge of CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and more contemporary models/branches within the CBT family of therapies, such as ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) and Schema-Focused Therapy.
Fernando Lopes holds an Edge Hill University Post- Grad Diploma in CBT and a Hazelden Foundation Diploma in Addictions Counselling.
