About me

I have over 25 years of experience in the field of psychology. I have worked with adults, couples, families and groups presenting with the following conditions: sexual trauma, sexual identity difficulties, relationship difficulties, life adjustment difficulties, anxiety, depression, PTSD in emergency services and military personnel, trauma following life changes or injuries, brain injury rehabilitation, health difficulties and chronic health conditions, such as HIV. I support people to develop greater resilience, self-belief and self-esteem.

I also offer life coaching, and coaching to executive teams and professionals working in executive positions. Having worked as an Executive Director with accountability to Board, commissioners and regulars in the charity sector and as a business consultant in the commercial sector, I am able to apply psychological theory widely and offer insights that can change behaviour and performance. I offer training in psychological approaches, supervision, coaching and mentoring to medical, nursing and therapy staff.

My approach has been influenced and informed by a variety of well-known psychological approaches and theories, but all my interventions are tailored to the individuals, couples, families, professionals, teams and organisations with whom and with which I have worked. I offer interventions based on cognitive behavioural psychology, motivational interviewing, psychodynamic therapy, systemic psychotherapy and narrative therapy, eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR) for trauma, and solution focused and neurolinguistic programming (NLP) approaches to coaching.
