About me
Dr Shahzad Munir is an Interventional Cardiologist currently practising within the NHS at the Heart and Lung Centre at New Cross Hospital. He obtained his MB ChB degree from the University of Birmingham in 1997, after which he went on to complete his training in Cardiology in Oxford and Toronto, becoming a consultant in 2010. With a focus on interventional cardiology, Dr Munir specialises in diagnosing and treating cardiovascular conditions using Interventional Cardiology techniques.
Dr Munir holds appointments at The Harborne Hospital . As an interventional cardiologist, he is skilled in performing procedures such as angioplasty, stent placement, and other catheter-based interventions to restore blood flow to the heart and manage various cardiac conditions. He also undertakes interventional procedures to treat heart valve problems including TAVI/ Balloon Valvuloplasty and Edge to Edge Repair of leaking heart valves. He also undertakes closure of PFO's.
Dr Munir is dedicated to providing high-quality care to his patients, utilising his knowledge, experience, and advanced techniques to improve cardiovascular health and enhance the overall well-being of those under his care within both private and NHS settings.
