About me

Mr Jones sees patients privately at The Parkside Hospital in Wimbledon and The Cleveland Clinic London (Grosvenor Place).

Mr Jones is a consultant neurosurgeon with a large established NHS practice at St George's Hospital in London, specialising in surgery for brain tumours, facial pain and hemifacial spasm surgery and the management of degenerative spinal disorders (such as sciatica, trapped nerve in the neck and back pain).

He is the lead surgeon for brain tumour surgery and specialises in awake surgery for low grade glioma as well as surgery for high grade glioma (Glioblastoma), brain metastasis and meningioma. He routinely uses 5-ALA (gliolan), intra-operative image guidance, intra-operative neurophysiological monitoring (mapping) and Ultrasound to achieve maximal tumour resection.

He holds an Honorary Consultant position at the Royal Marsden Hospital and enjoys a close working relationship with world-leading experts in Oncology providing a high standard of care in the delivery of treatment for brain tumours. He is the Deputy Clinical Director of Cancer Services at St George's, London.

Mr Jones runs a multi-disciplinary facial pain clinic in both the NHS and private practice and employs cutting edge technologies in surgery for facial pain and hemifacial spasm.

Mr Jones is an Honorary Senior Lecturer in Neurosurgery at St George's University and has an active funded research interest in the role of advanced MR scanning in the diagnosis and management of brain tumours.

He qualified from Imperial College London with a first class honours BSc in 2000 before obtaining MBBS in 2002. He completed his neurosurgical training in London and obtained membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (MRCS) in 2005 and Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Surgical Neurology (FRCS SN) in 2013.

Mr Jones was awarded the Norman Dott Medal for the most outstanding performance in the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (neurosurgery) exam in 2013.

During his training, Mr Jones spent 3 years as the Rupert Johnson Fellow in Neurosurgery at St George’s and was awarded a PhD from the University of London in 2013 into the role of advanced magnetic resonance imaging in the diagnosis of brain tumours which was funded by the St George’s Neurosciences Research Foundation and a Royal College of Surgeons Research Fellowship.

He completed a Marjorie Newsome Travelling Observership at the Barrow Neurological Institute, Phoenix in 2015.
