About me
I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Spinal Surgeon working in Nuffield Health North Staffordshire and the Royal Stoke University Hospital.
Having completed my Senior House Officer jobs in Birmingham, I joined the prestigious Stoke/Oswestry Orthopaedic training programme and attained the FRCS Tr&Orth exams in 2013. My spinal surgical jobs during this time were undertaken in Stoke, Oswestry and Alder Hey hospitals. I then went onto fellowship level training at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital and Birmingham Children's Hospital before starting my Consultant post at the Royal Stoke University Hospital in 2015.
My practice is purely spinal in nature and I specialise in all aspects of spinal surgery. In the NHS trust, this involves both paediatric and adult deformity correction surgery, complex revision surgery, spinal trauma and spinal tumours. I also perform degenerative surgery including decompression surgery in the neck, thoracic and lumbar spine.
In the private sector, I perform spinal injections, lumbar and cervical discectomy, decompression and fusion procedures. I try whenever possible to explore non-operative treatment modalities and do believe that lifestyle changes, dietary changes and exercise all play an important part in this field. I also have a special interest in exercise therapy for back pained individuals.
