About me

I am a qualified counsellor accredited to the BACP, offering support and understanding in a confidential and non-judgemental environment. I have a private practice providing a discreet and relaxing space in which to make sense of difficult feelings; I also offer online sessions via Zoom.

I work with a wide range of issues including alcohol and drug addiction, anxiety, bereavement, depression, domestic abuse, feelings of low self-esteem, childhood sexual abuse, relationship issues. Anxiety is a common issue; here I find cognitive behavioural therapy useful, looking at coping mechanisms and strategies which can be used independently and continuously.

I worked with the charity Mencap for 18 years, supporting families and carers with children with learning disabilities. I have experience of working with special needs, including Autism and ADHD.

Feelings of anxiety regarding uncertainty in this current climate can become overwhelming; addressing feelings of low mood through loneliness and isolation can be helpful. I currently offer sessions remotely via Zoom, in addition to face to face sessions, on an ongoing basis,

I work with individuals - adults and young people from 14yrs and with couples. Each session lasts 50 minutes (60 mins for couples) and the number of sessions can be long or short term. I feel it important to address each client's needs individually and am happy to discuss any worries, expectations, or goals for counselling. The first session is a time to discuss the most helpful way of working together, with no obligation to continue; clients can book further appointments if they wish. Appointments are available weekdays or evenings.
