About me

Welcome to my profile. I am a friendly and approachable Counselling Psychologist with extensive experience working in the NHS and private practice, helping clients struggling with a wide range of difficulties, from depression, anxiety, addiction, PTSD, relationship difficulties amongst many others. I offer appts on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday daytimes.

I feel very passionate about the importance of treating each client individually, developing a good understanding of you before collaboratively working with you to help improve your mental wellbeing and/or achieve your goals. I benefit from being able to offer four main types of therapy that I can integrate flexibly according to your needs, and at any point in your therapeutic journey. I tend to keep my work time-limited to 8, 16 or 32 sessions and regularly review along the way. I work from a very relational perspective looking at past and present patterns of relating and how these contribute to mood and struggles, and I use the therapeutic relationship, mapping and letters (using Cognitive-Analytical principles) to aid this process. I integrate Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to help clients to develop coping strategies and techniques to manage their anxiety/depression/addiction, and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy principles to help clients wanting a better understanding and deeper resolution to their unconscious processes through exploration of their earlier experiences and relationships. I also am fully trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) which is an evidence-based approach used for many difficulties including trauma and phobias, that I regularly interweave into my work (or can use in relative isolation if appropriate).
