About me
Dr Kingshuk Majumder is a senior consultant in Gynaecology, Reproductive Medicine and Surgery and advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery. He started his consultant career in Oxford in 2010 and subsequently moved to Manchester. His NHS practice is based at St. Mary's Hospital, Manchester. He has trained in advanced laparoscopic surgery and in Australia and the UK. His expertise includes complex endometriosis, adenomyosis, all general Gynaecology problems, fertility and assisted conception (IVF) and Neuropelveology (Level 2 certification). He is one of a small group on consultants in the UK and worldwide, who have undergone training in Neuropelveology (Nerve related problems in the pelvis) in Zurich, Switzerland.
Dr Majumder has the following areas of interest: Medical and Surgical management of complex endometriosis and pelvic pain, Neuropelveology, advanced laparoscopic (keyhole) and hysteroscopic (uterine) surgery, reproductive medicine and fertility enhancing keyhole surgery, menstrual disorders, fibroids and general gynaecology.
Dr Majumder has been associated with the BSGE accredited North-West pelvic pain and endometriosis centre at St. Mary's Hospital, Manchester since its inception in 2012 and is also part of the accredited endometriosis service at The Circle Alexandra Hospital. He has been the lead for the endometriosis service at St. Mary's Hospital between 2018 and 2023.
He is one of a very small cohort of consultants in the UK who has specialised in complex endometriosis, infertility management including IVF treatment and egg freezing. He works at the IVF centre at St. Mary's Hospital and at Manchester Fertility, Cheadle.
Dr Majumder is an appraiser to colleagues and supervisor to post-graduate trainees in gynaecology. He is a Royal college of Obstetrics and Gynaecologist accredited trainer in advanced laparoscopic surgery. Dr Majumder also helps train consultant colleagues in advanced laparoscopic surgery and many of the consultants in the North-West have been trained by him in advanced laparoscopic surgery.
Dr Majumder is the principal investigator for clinical trials at St. Mary's Hospital and has numerous publications in peer reviewed journals.
