About me
I am an experienced Clinical Psychologist specialising in working with children, young people and their families. I offer help with a wide range of emotional/behavioural and mental health difficulties and am committed to helping children and families develop ways to feel happier in their lives.
I also have a special interest in working with adults to help overcome the impact of trauma on their lives (for example traumatic child-birthing experiences, road traffic accidents, sexual assault).
Before working independently (since 2015), I have worked as a Psychologist for over 14 years within various NHS and social care settings, providing psychological interventions for children, young people and adults. Specialist areas I have worked in include: CAMHs clinics, CAMHs inpatient services and intensive outreach services, youth offending services, eating disorder services and paediatric/physical health settings. I have also had a specialist role in working with looked after and adopted children. I have been trained in a range of evidence-based psychological therapies including, CBT, DBT, EMDR and DDP. I also integrate a systemic approach into my practice and use ideas from narrative work and mindfulness-based approaches. This breadth of training and clinical experience has enabled me to develop flexible, creative and individually tailored interventions to thoughtfully match the needs of my clients. I really enjoy my work and how much I am constantly learning from every person I meet with.
