About me
Dr Reeba Oliver is a Consultant Subspecialist Urogynaecologist with extensive expertise in the diagnosis and management of complex pelvic floor and lower urinary tract disorders in women. She holds a substantive NHS consultant post at Barts Health NHS Trust and provides specialist private urogynaecology care focused on evidence-based, minimally invasive and patient-centred treatment.
Her clinical practice covers the full range of urogynaecological conditions including urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, voiding dysfunction, recurrent urinary tract infections, bladder pain syndromes, childbirth-related pelvic floor trauma and postpartum pelvic floor recovery. Dr Oliver is known for combining advanced diagnostic assessment with personalised treatment strategies aimed at improving both symptoms and long-term quality of life.
Dr Oliver's clinical philosophy centres on careful specialist assessment, clear explanation of findings and shared decision-making. Pelvic floor and bladder symptoms are often multifactorial, and her approach considers structural, functional, hormonal and lifestyle influences to ensure accurate diagnosis and tailored management.
She provides specialist assessment and treatment for a wide range of pelvic floor and bladder conditions including stress, urge and mixed urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, voiding dysfunction, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic floor weakness or injury following childbirth, and complex or recurrent symptoms after previous treatment or surgery.
Dr Oliver also provides dedicated care for women experiencing recurrent urinary tract infections or persistent bladder pain symptoms. Her structured assessment focuses on identifying underlying causes and reducing repeated antibiotic exposure where possible through evidence-based prevention strategies and targeted treatment.
In addition, she offers specialist postpartum pelvic floor and bladder assessment for women seeking evaluation and guidance following pregnancy and childbirth, including recovery planning and return to exercise.
Advanced diagnostic investigations are used selectively to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. These may include multichannel urodynamics, flexible cystoscopy, pelvic floor ultrasound and endoanal ultrasound where clinically indicated.
Management often begins with conservative and non-surgical treatments such as pelvic floor rehabilitation, bladder retraining, lifestyle interventions, medication and hormonal therapies. Where procedures are required, Dr Oliver offers a range of minimally invasive outpatient treatments including bladder botulinum toxin therapy and urethral bulking injections.
For selected patients requiring surgery, she performs minimally invasive procedures including laparoscopic colposuspension for stress urinary incontinence and keyhole prolapse surgery such as laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy or sacrohysteropexy.
Dr Oliver works closely with pelvic floor physiotherapists, colorectal and urology colleagues, specialist nurses and imaging teams to ensure coordinated multidisciplinary care for women with complex pelvic floor conditions.
Her practice aims to provide expert, discreet and compassionate care in an environment where women feel comfortable discussing sensitive symptoms and confident in their treatment plan.
