About me
I qualified as a clinical psychologist 15 years ago. Since then, I have worked in child and adolescent mental health services and currently work in intensive care part time which involves working with adults and young people who have been psychologically affected (such as experiencing PTSD) by their hospital experience.
On meeting with clients, I will carry out an initial assessment when we work together to form a shared understanding of the problem, which will then inform the treatment protocol. I adhere to NICE guidelines and believe in placing the therapeutic relationship central to the work we do, always striving to work collaboratively with individuals. I work with children, young people, adults, couples and whole families.
I am accredited with the British Association for Cognitive and Behavioural Psychotherapies as a cognitive behavioural psychotherapist; but will also draw from other therapy modalities such as mindfulness; narrative therapy; systemic work and EMDR as appropriate.
I am a supervisor with Reading University, training CAMHS professionals in doing CBT with children and young people.
