About me
Dr Pakravan is a Consultant Physician in Sport, Exercise and Musculoskeletal Medicine, and the Chief Medical Officer of British Basketball League and Women's British Basketball League. He is a Visiting Senior Fellow in Sport and Exercise Medicine at University of Suffolk, and Vice General Secretary of the European College of Sport and Exercise Physicians (ECOSEP). He also represents ECOSEP in the World Health Organisation's European network for Health Enhancing Physical Activity (HEPA Europe).
Dr Pakravan has extensive experience of working with elite athletes including in Premier League Football, Football Association, National Basketball Association (NBA), EuroCup Basketball, England and GB Hockey, GB Tae kwondo, and various other sports and major events.
Dr Pakravan was a Team Leader for the field of play medical teams at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games looking after athletes.
Dr Pakravan’s qualifications including in Musculoskeletal Ultrasonography, and wealth of experience at highest levels of elite sports as well as general musculoskeletal and orthopaedic medicine enables him to offer his patients a tailormade personalised management plan to ensure not only accurate diagnosis and optimum pain management but also long term functional benefits.
