About me

Mr Pilgrim has been a Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon in Leicester since 2014, specialising purely in breast surgery. His practice includes consultations and surgery for breast cancer, benign conditions and cosmetic breast surgery. He works closely with other specialists including radiologists, oncologists and geneticists to ensure that all of his patients have access to the full range of modern diagnostic, surgical and oncological techniques and treatments
He studied pre-clinical medicine at Cambridge University, graduating in 1998, then moved to the Royal Free Hospital, now part of University College London, for clinical medicine, obtaining his MBBS in 2001. He developed an interest in breast cancer during his junior surgical jobs at the Luton & Dunstable Hospital and the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital. To further his interest in breast cancer, he joined Professor Dylan Edwards’ lab at the University of East Anglia, being awarded his MD in 2008.
During his higher surgical training in the East of England, he contributed to many clinical research projects, and was the founding chairman of the East of England Surgical Research Group before obtaining his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2012.
