About me

I have experience working with severe and challenging behaviour, and am able to complete complex assessments tailored to the contextual demands of individual cases, incorporating information from young people, families and other professionals. I use a variety of assessment techniques including, structured observations (at clinics, home and school); approach-specific assessment techniques (e.g. play and CBT); and cognitive and neuropsychological assessments (e.g. Dynamic Assessment, IQ, memory, attention and academic achievement). The cognitive and neurological reports provide clinicians, teachers and parents with educational and behavioural advice, in light of the individuals’ unique profiles of strengths and difficulties.

My previous and current work with children and families has involved me seeing children who come from acutely emotionally and socially deprived backgrounds. My contribution involves systemic thinking and collaborative problem-solving work with families, foster carers and other people of significance within the client’s life, e.g. voluntary agencies.
