About me
Mr Said Abisi is a Consultant Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, with private practices at London Bridge Hospital, the Harley Street Clinic and KIMS Hospital in Kent.
He treats the full range of vascular conditions, with particular expertise in minimally invasive, �keyhole� treatments. His practice includes the assessment and treatment of varicose veins, peripheral arterial disease and intermittent claudication, carotid artery disease, and aortic aneurysms. He has a specialist interest in complex aortic aneurysms and advanced endovascular treatments, including fenestrated and branched endovascular aortic repair (FEVAR and BEVAR).
Mr Abisi trained in vascular surgery in Nottingham and London and was awarded the Cook/Vascular Society of Great Britain and Ireland Fellowship in 2012, allowing him to undertake advanced training in complex aortic intervention. He holds a Master of Surgery (MS) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PGCAP) from King's College London and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons.
Alongside his clinical practice, Mr Abisi has an active academic and research career, with extensive publications in the vascular surgery literature and a particular research focus on complex aortic disease and minimally invasive treatment .
His approach is centred on providing each patient with an individualised treatment plan and, wherever clinically appropriate, offering the least invasive and safest option. He has particular expertise in catheter-based and endovascular techniques, which can often reduce the need for open surgery and may allow patients to recover more quickly.
Outside medicine, Mr Abisi enjoys cycling and sport. He is a keen follower of international cycling. He enjoys the motivation and energy that sport brings to both his personal and professional life.
