About me
Dr Orrell qualified from Manchester University in 1982. He trained in neurology in Leeds and London. He was Visiting Professor in Neurology at the University of Rochester, New York, USA for 12 months.
Dr Orrell was appointed Consultant Neurologist at the Royal Free Hospital and National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (UCLH), London, in 1998. Dr Orrell is also Consultant Neurologist at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire. Dr Orrell is Associate Professor in Clinical Neuroscience at UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology, London.
Dr Orrell sees private patients at the Wellington Hospital, London; the Royal Free Hospital, London; 10 Harley Street, London; and Spire Harpenden Hospital, Hertfordshire.
Dr Orrell is interested in the whole range of neurological conditions. He has special interests in disorders of nerve, muscle and brain, and international recognition in disorders of muscle, nerve, motor neuron disease (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), and neurogenetics.
Dr Orrell provides a consultation and diagnostic service for patients with all neurological problems. These include headache, migraine, epilepsy, dizziness, stroke, brain tumours, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, movement disorders, memory problems, Alzheimer’s Disease, nerve and muscle disorders (myopathy, muscular dystrophy, myositis, neuropathy, myasthenia, motor neuron disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), and rarer conditions, with further investigation and management to suit the patient and their condition.
