Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon
MB ChB. FRSC(Lon) FRCS (Orth)
Derek Lang graduated in the UK and undertook his orthopaedic training in UK (Manchester, Sheffield and Leicester). Having completed the knee and sports reconstruction fellowship in Melbourne, Australia, he returned to the UK to take up a consultant post at The University Hospital South Manchester.
He has published widely in peer reviewed journals and undertaken a research fellowship in bone regeneration and limb lengthening
He has 20 years consultant experience in the management of acute and chronic knee and hip disorders in a university teaching hospital and was instrumental in establishing the South Manchester Major Trauma Centre
He currently works from Wythenshawe hospital as part of the Manchester Foundation Trust.
His main interest is in managing the painful knee and Hip, sports injuries and degenerative conditions in the knee and hip
