About me

Dan Williams is a Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery; specialist in Primary & Revision Hip (THR) & Knee (TKR) Arthroplasty.

Experience of over 2300 joint replacements, including 480 revision joint replacement procedures with pain and function scores that go above and beyond national benchmarks:
- Mean gain in THR Oxford hip score from 18/48 pre-op to 45/48 at five years; a 27-point pain and function improvement compared to a national 21-point gain (on the national PROMs programme (NPP);
. Mean increase in TKR Oxford knee score from 18/48 to 40/48 at three years; a 22 point pain and function gain compared to a 15 point national improvement.

Dan is a highly experienced surgeon, qualifying from the University of Wales College of Medicine in 1998. He trained in Wales, Australia and South Africa before becoming a registrar in the South West of England.

He completed advanced training in emergency operations and complex joint replacements in Seattle, Oxford and Vancouver.
