About me

I am a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust and Associate Divisional Director for Head and Neck at North West Anglia Foundation Trust. My special interests within ophthalmology include cataract surgery, glaucoma, glaucoma surgery and general ophthalmology. I have consultation rooms at the Fitzwilliam Hospital, Peterborough for my private patients.

My undergraduate medical and surgical training was at the University of Oxford. Following this I have completed nine years of post-graduate higher surgical training working at various teaching and district general hospitals in Oxfordshire, Birmingham, London and Sheffield.

I have also completed three years as a glaucoma research fellow at Moorfields Eye Hospital and the Institute of Ophthalmology UCL studying advances in glaucoma surgery. Following my training in general ophthalmology, I have further enhanced my specialist glaucoma training by joining the prestigious glaucoma fellowship training program at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London.

I try to maintain an interest in teaching and training, regularly giving national and international presentations and I am also actively involved in the training junior surgeons and allied health professionals.

I am married to Hema, a Dental Surgeon and director of a dental practice (Ballard and Tucker) based in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire. We are the proud parents of a boy who is just starting school.
