About me

I am an experienced Clinical Psychologist, with 20 years of experience working in the NHS, charity sector and private practice. I am comfortable working with individuals, couples and families, across the lifespan and with a wide range of clinical, relational, physical health and emotional difficulties.

I aim to support my clients in living full and fulfilling lives, whatever the difficulties. I am a supportive, open and non-judgemental therapist, and aim to stand side-by-side with my clients in understanding and addressing their difficulties. Through this, I aim to help my clients thrive, and empower them to take ownership of the changes they are making, with a view to maintaining these independently beyond the end of our therapeutic work together.

I have completed training in a number of therapeutic modalities and work integratively, incorporating elements from different therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion-Focused therapy (CFT) and mindfulness, depending on the needs of the client. One of my areas of interest in the overlap between physical health and psychological well-being - I have worked extensively in this area with clients with many different physical health conditions and challenges, including those with cancer, pain or fatigue. I am also particularly interested in working in a relational way to help clients understand how their relationship with self and others develops, is maintained, and how this may impact on day-to-day experience and interactions, and use a schema-therapy informed approach in my work.

Areas of interest

I have worked with clients with a wide range of mental health, emotional, relational and physical health difficulties. I am comfortable working with clients experiencing a wide spectrum of challenges, including: different anxiety presentations; low mood/depression; stress; trauma (developmental and single-incident); interpersonal and relational difficulties; long-term emotional needs; self-esteem; adjustment; overlap between physical health and psychological well-being; bereavement.

I offer short-term interventions, or longer-term therapy, to suit the needs of my clients.
I use a range of different therapeutic approaches, including CBT, Schema therapy, and EMDR.
