About me

I am a psychiatrist with sixteen years' experience in the assessment and management of mental health issues in children and adolescents. I have worked as a full-time NHS Consultant in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry for eleven years, including four years as Consultant for the Southend Child and Family Consultation Service and Consultant for the South Essex Child and Adolescent Learning Disability Service. I am currently the Consultant for Poplar Adolescent Inpatient Unit in Rochford, Essex. My CV is available on request.

I offer assessment, advice and medical treatment for most childhood mental health issues including:

�Anxiety disorders including Phobias, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
�Paediatric Bipolar Affective Disorder
�Psychosis
�Eating Disorders
�Attention Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
�Attachment Disorders
�Emerging Personality Disorders

I am able to offer assessments for ADHD. While I frequently work with young people with ASD or suspected ASD, I do not offer assessments for ASD.

I am happy to see patients with complex difficulties, as well as those who may have simultaneous medical and psychological illnesses.

I am available for private consultation at the Forest Therapy Centre in South Woodford. This clinic is easy to reach from Essex or London. I also offer private consultation at Prittlewell House in Southend-on-Sea.

As a full-time NHS consultant I have limited capacity for private work. I can only take on a small number of new patients for assessment at any time so may have to decline some referrals.
