About me
Mr Willmott is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in disorders of the foot and ankle. After completing his general orthopaedic training, he did a Foot and Ankle Speciality Fellowship at The Royal Bournemouth Hospital. He was awarded a British Orthopaedic Association travelling fellowship which allowed him to work in Washington DC. Here he learnt cutting edge techniques in foot and ankle and trauma surgery. He then undertook further specialist training at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, gaining experience in the latest aspects of foot and ankle surgery. On his return to England he was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at The Conquest Hospital.
Mr Willmott is the author of ‘Trauma and Orthopaedics At A Glance’, a major text book for junior doctors. He also teaches Advanced Trauma Life Support to doctors nationwide.
His specialist interests include bunion correction, treatment of metatarsalgia, heel pain and tendon disorders, flat foot deformity and tendon reconstruction, ankle instability, sporting injuries and arthritic conditions affecting the foot and ankle including ankle replacement, shockwave therapy and Cartiva interposition arthroplasty.
