Dr. Shanmugam further developed his expertise through an international fellowship at the National Heart Centre/Duke-NUS Singapore, focusing on Device Therapy and Advanced Cardiac Imaging.

Dr. Shanmugam has expertise in general cardiology, echocardiography, cardiac magnetic resonance imaging, and heart failure management. He also has a special interest in promoting healthy lifestyle and nutrition for heart disease prevention. He has made significant contributions to numerous national and international peer-reviewed publications.
