About me
Dr. Kaleem Baig is a highly experienced Consultant Psychiatrist with over eighteen years of experience in Psychiatry. Kaleem aims to provide expert, compassionate and person-centred care, focusing on holistic approaches incorporating psychological, social, lifestyle, and nutritional interventions and medications. Kaleem is passionate about helping people explore personalised solutions to their difficulties that are in keeping with their values, objectives, and unique circumstances.
TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
Kaleem completed his training in Psychiatry at South London and Maudsley Training Scheme, one of the world’s most prestigious psychiatry training programmes, gaining a broad range of experience in different clinical settings, including additional training in Psychotherapy. He then worked with Dorset Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust as a Consultant Psychiatrist for three years providing inpatient care for acute mental health difficulties and intensive home treatment. Kaleem moved to Priory Hospital Southampton in 2015 and has worked in inpatient settings, including specialist inpatient treatment for eating disorders and acute mental health problems and outpatient care to private patients. Kaleem is also a graduate of Bayes Business School, the University of London, where he specialised in Medical Leadership and Management. He held the additional responsibility as Medical Director for Priory Hospital Southampton, Priory Well Being Centre Southampton, and Manor Clinic from 2016-2022.
Kaleem is recognised as a specialist in General Psychiatry with an additional specialism in Liaison Psychiatry (conditions at the interface of both psychiatry and medicine) by the General Medical Council. His contribution to the Psychiatry and Healthcare Management field has been acknowledged by several professional bodies with an award of fellowship, which signifies recognition of professional standing and distinctive contribution to the area.

In addition, Kaleem is a member of the Nutrition Society and an Alliance Member of the British Dietetic Association. He is recognised by the Secretary of State under section 12 of the Mental Health Act and as an Approved Clinician as having specialist expertise in Psychiatry and being able to offer expert clinical advice in legal contexts. Kaleem is a member of the British Medical Association.
