Dr Francesco Lo Monaco is one of London's most highly regarded cardiologists, with over 20 years of experience in clinical cardiology, advanced cardiac imaging, diagnostic testing and cardiovascular research. Recognised for his patient-centred philosophy and exceptional clinical standards, he is consistently rated among the top cardiologists in the UK, with more than 600 five-star reviews across leading medical platforms.

Dr Lo Monaco has been honoured with several major international awards, including being named Global Cardiologist of the Year 2025 and receiving the Forttuna Award for Cardiologist of the Year 2025 in Dubai. He is also the recipient of the European Award in Medicine for Patient Care 2024 and 2025 and the European Award in Medicine for Clinical Cardiology 2022, distinctions that celebrate his outstanding achievements in cardiology and his unwavering dedication to delivering world-class patient care.

A graduate with honours from the University of Pavia, he completed specialist training in cardiology in 2003 before moving to the United States for a prestigious Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Cardiovascular Physiology at Harvard Medical School and New York Medical College. During this period, he earned full US medical licensure after successfully completing all USMLE examinations.

From 2009 to 2024, Dr Lo Monaco served as a Consultant Cardiologist at West Middlesex University Hospital, where he worked as both Principal and Co-Investigator on major clinical research projects. His publications include contributions to PNAS, the International Journal of Cardiology and presentations at leading international cardiology congresses.

Dr Lo Monaco's clinical expertise covers the full spectrum of cardiology. He specialises in echocardiography, stress echocardiography, cardiac CT angiography, 24-hour ECG Holter monitoring, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring and the management of heart failure, arrhythmias, valvular heart disease and coronary artery disease.

In recognition of his academic and clinical leadership, he was appointed Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer in Cardiology at Imperial College School of Medicine, where he taught and mentored medical students and trainee doctors. He has also served as Visiting Professor of Cardiology in China and lectures internationally on echocardiography.

Driven by his commitment to personalised and evidence-based care, Dr Lo Monaco founded The National Heart Clinic in London, where he provides comprehensive cardiology consultations and advanced diagnostics in a compassionate and patient-focused environment. He also serves as the Official Physician to the Italian Embassy in the United Kingdom.
