About me

Joined NHS as Consultant psychiatrist in general adult psychiatry in 1999 , after completing the higher training in General adult psychiatry with GKT ( GUys Kings St Thomas' ) rotation scheme.
Working as consultant for over17 years , has extensive experience in diagnosis and management of mental health disorders including anxiety, depression , mood disorders and psychosis . I retired from NHS in September 2016 to continue with my private practice .

My special interest is bipolar affective disorder . I am passionate about " physical health aspect of mental health " thereby adopting a holistic appapproach to manage my patients .

I have been a Royal College examiner for MRCPSych examination since 2004 . I am a consultant Appraiser .

I was successfully Revalidated by GMC in September 2018

Areas of interest

Diagnosis and management of -bipolar affective disorder , depression, anxiety and stress disorders , phobias , post traumatic stress disorder , obsessive compulsive disorder , schizophrenia and psychotic disorders , management of stress and bereavement issues

My special interest is bipolar affective disorder .

I am trained in CBT from UCL London . I use CBT for anxiety , depression , PTSD , phobias and OCD . I update my CBT training every two years by attending CBT training/ workshop by Royal College of Psychiatrists .

I am a Consultant Appraiser and appraise consultants from all specialities .
