About me

Hello - I am a psychotherapist, qualified in 1999 and registered with the UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy) I have been in private practice for over 20 years. My first training was in the creative expressive action method of psychodrama, now supplemented with a number of other ways of working such as Sociodrama, NLP, EFT, BrainSpotting and Counselling.

My clients come to see me with a wide range of issues, both professional and personal. I am particularly interested in helping people view their health and wellbeing holistically - body, mind and spirit being completely interconnected - and in designing specific interventions for the client to undertake to aid in the overall improvement of life satisfaction and general happiness. How can we together move from a position of "glass half-empty" to a position of "glass at the very least half full"! I use both talking and creative arts therapies to assist the development of new perceptions and ways of viewing our own life stories.

My continuing study at the present time is in the relatively new field of EP, or Energy Psychology. Einstein said, back in the 1930s, that all we are is energy, and complementary practices, such as Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Simple Energy Techniques (SET) and Intention-based Tapping (IET) are proving very useful in dealing with past trauma, current life-limiting beliefs, self esteem, phobias and many other issues that my clients grapple with. In 2019 I completed my training in BrainSpotting, a method developed out of the increasing body of neuroscience research - knowledge about how the brain works.

I am based in north Manchester and work 4 days a week, 9.30-5.30. I also work online with those who prefer to do so or who are unable to get to my practice in person.

Areas of interest

I work with adult clients who are dealing with such issues as:
stress management; anxiety; depression; self-confidence; bereavement; relationships; family situations; domestic violence; work-based struggles; happiness development; phobias; life-limiting beliefs; existential (mortality) fears; and many more.
Additionally, as a life coach, I work with people looking for a new direction in life and those who are facing redundancy or retirement.
