About me
Mr Paul Ainsworth qualified from Leeds University in 1998. He has undertaken extensive training in general and colorectal surgery in the Mersey Deanery. He obtained FRCS in 2012 and has completed his Certificate of Completion of Training in 2014. He has also completed a fellowship in laparoscopic colorectal surgery and attended laparoscopic training courses in the UK and Germany.
Mr Ainsworth has published articles in Colorectal Disease, European Journal of Cancer, European Journal of Surgical Oncology and the Annals of Vascular Surgery.
Mr Ainsworth has a keen interest in teaching and training. He regularly trains the next generation of surgeons from the North West Deanery and is a GMC recognised educational supervisor. Mr Ainsworth served as the Clinical Director in General Surgery for 6 years at Southport and Ormskirk Hospital. He also carried out important audits including acting as the surgical lead for the National Emergency Laparotomy Audit (NELA).
