About me
I am a Consultant Laparoscopic General and Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeon at the University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust, based at Queen's Hospital, Burton-on-Trent. I was appointed to this role following the successful completion of extensive surgical training in the UK.
My specialised training includes advanced hepatobiliary surgery (liver, gallbladder, and gallstone disease) at a tertiary referral centre in Liverpool. I further developed expertise in upper gastrointestinal surgery through dedicated training programmes in West Yorkshire and at the teaching hospital in Hull. My surgical foundation training was completed in Sri Lanka prior to relocating to the UK.
