About me

Miss Tina Rashid qualified from University College London Medical School in 2004. She completed her post-graduate training as a Urological Surgeon on the prestigious North West Thames Rotation, which included London University hospitals such as Charing Cross Hospital and University College London Hospital. She passed her FRCS Urology exams in 2012 and was awarded the Keith Yates 'Gold Medal' for best overall performance in the UK.
She undertook a competitive fellowship in female urology at University Hospitals of Leicester and was awarded a fellowship at the European centre of excellence in functional and reconstructive urology in Belgium, Leuven University Hospital.

Miss Rashid is the most senior female surgeon in her field in the UK with vast experience in genital surgery for trans women, including bilateral orchidectomy, vulvoplasty (labioplasty), vaginoplasty (shallow- and full-depth), peritoneal and bowel vaginoplasty.

Since 2023, she has been the National Clinical Lead for Gender Surgery, working alongside NHS England, determined to improve the way surgical services are delivered to patients in the UK.

She currently works at Parkside Hospital and Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.

She is involved in research at a National level with a special interest in patient reported outcome measures after genital reconstruction. She is regularly invited to chair National and International sessions, has delivered multiple Keynote lectures and has published over a dozen book chapters and more than 35 peer-reviewed papers in her areas of expertise. Her passion for education and training urological surgeons of the future was demonstrated during her four years as Training Programme Directors for higher surgical trainees (urology) in North West London.

She continues to seek ways to treat patients using innovation as a tool to improve patient outcomes after surgery.
