About me
Mr. Anwar began his consultant practice at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital Stanmore in 2014. He has a complex spinal practice encompassing all aspects of spinal surgery in adults and children involving the neck, lower back and thoracic spine.
Mr. Anwar trained in some of the best spinal units in the UK including the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (Stanmore), The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (Queen Square), Great Ormond Street Hospital, Guys and St Thomas' Hospital, the Evelina Children's hospital, the Royal London Hospital and the Norfolk and Norwich.
Mr. Anwar's approach to spinal conditions is to avoid procedures whenever possible but to intervene with injections or operations when necessary to aim for the best possible outcome.
When surgery is required, Mr. Anwar aims to use the least invasive and most effective options, utilising modern techniques such as navigation or robotic assisted surgery.
Mr. Anwar frequently treats patients with "slipped discs", scoliosis, pars defects, spondylolisthesis, spinal stenosis and sciatica.
Mr. Anwar has numerous interests outside his surgical practice, in particular focusing on community projects for young people and sport.
