About us

APOLOGIES BUT WE HAVE NO THERAPY OR ASSESSMENT APPOINTMENTS AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME AND OUR WAITING LISTS ARE FULL.

My name is Dr Emilie Cassell. I am a clinical psychologist with over 20 years experience of working with people with emotional and/or behavioural?difficulties in the NHS and private sector. Until 2017, I held a senior post in the NHS, where I managed a team of therapists working in schools as well as working directly with young people with severe behavioural and emotional difficulties who were at risk of dropping out of education. In addition, for the past 9 years I have established a private practice in Surrey where I offer psychological support to children, young people, adults, couples and families as well as consultation and training to professionals.

As a clinical psychologist I am trained to understand people's thoughts and behaviours in the context of psychological theory and?to?use a range of different evidence-based techniques?to help?them achieve their goals. I draw on:
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
Psychodynamic Theory
Systemic Theory
Solution Focused Therapy (SFT)
Mindfulness

This allows me to?tailor my therapeutic approach to each individual or family depending on the nature of their issues, their preferences and what is proven to work scientifically and in my experience.

My aim is always to provide and safe and confidential space in which my clients feel able to talk openly about their issues and consider new ways of addressing them. I also like to work collaboratively with?them to?find the approach that suits them best.

If you are concerned about your wellbeing or that of a loved one please feel free to contact me for an informal conversation about how I might be able to help.
