About me

My details can be found on the BABCP UK register of Accredited CBT therapists.

I am also an EMDR Consultant and Clinical Supervisor.

CBT and EMDR (as recommended by NICE Guidelines) is provided for individuals and couples and I can provide clinical supervision for high and low CBT therapists and EMDR Practitioners.

CBT is an evidence based therapy for the treatment of depression and anxiety related disorders. It is an effective treatment recognised by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidelines.

Many of the referrals I receive for CBT are from GP's who recognise the benefits for those experiencing depression and anxiety related disorders. This includes post-natal depression, panic, phobia's, health anxiety, social anxiety, OCD, low self-esteem and confidence.

In addition to CBP I have trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). EMDR is recognised by the World Health Organization and NICE Guidelines as an effective treatment for many psychological disorders including Post-traumatic Stress Disorder.

Whilst studying for a Master of Science (MSc) in EMDR the focus of my dissertation was on the maladaptive memories acquired during cancer treatment.

As an EMDR Consultant, I am now seeing more clients with trauma related difficulties such as relationship abuse and neglect and the ongoing consequences and fear following on from an illness including a cancer diagnosis and treatment.

I have worked with the Trauma Response Network who provided EMDR group therapy for front-line workers during the pandemic.

Whilst working within the NHS where half of my time was spent providing clinical supervision I attended IAPT supervision training and beforehand I had gained a Diploma in Clinical Supervision.
