About me
Mr Millington is a consultant Hip, knee and sports orthopaedic surgeon at Barts Health NHS trust. He is head of the department at the Barts Health Orthopaedic Centre. and works at the Royal London Hospital, the largest trauma centre in Europe.
He specialises in hip, knee surgery and sports surgery. He is also fellowship trained in tumour surgery Mr Millington is an expert in hip, total knee and partial knee replacement surgery including complex revision surgery, in addition to treating sports injuries such as ACL tears, ligament, cartilage and meniscus conditions with keyhole surgery.
Mr Millington endeavours to use the latest techniques in orthopaedics including use of custom made implants and robotics when indicated, to ensure optimal outcomes for his patients.
In 2019 he was nominated for a BAFTA award after performing total knee replacement surgery live on national TV - Operation Live, Total Knee Rebuild.
Mr Millington qualified in 1998 from the University of Nottingham and during his orthopaedic training he completed his PhD in articular cartilage research, cartilage imaging and transplantation. He has held a number of international research grants and published over 30 international peer reviewed research articles and widely presented at international research meeting.
For many years, Mr Millington worked overseas in leading university teaching hospitals in the USA (University of Virgina), Austria (Medical University of Vienna) and Australia (Royal Prince Alfred Hospital) and is now based in London. He works closely with leading consultants across London to provide the best level of care possible to UK and overseas patients.
