About me
If you are struggling with anxiety, depression, work related stress, trauma or its effects, relationship difficulties, loss or a challenging period in your life, I can help. I offer a warm, confidential and collaborative space where we can work together to understand what is happening and identify ways forward.
I am a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with over 34 years' experience helping adults address difficulties and improve their wellbeing. I spent over three decades working in the NHS before moving to full-time private practice in 2025, having established my independent practice alongside my NHS career. I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
I work with adults experiencing a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, work related stress; procrastination, burn-out, low self-esteem, trauma, relationship difficulties, bereavement and loss, and the emotional impact of challenging life events and transitions. I also work with people experiencing career challenges, changes or transitions.
My aim is to help you develop a clearer understanding of your difficulties, recognise patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and develop practical strategies that enable you to move forward. I believe therapy works best when it is collaborative and tailored to the individual, so we will work together to identify what would be most helpful for you.
Alongside my clinical work, I have extensive experience supervising Clinical Psychologists and providing training and supervision to NHS professionals, including Assistant Psychologists, Mental Health Practitioners, Psychiatrists, Nurses and Social Workers. This senior professional experience reflects my commitment to high standards of psychological practice and evidence-based care.
Work, Stress and Career Support:
Work can have a significant impact on our psychological wellbeing. I support people who are experiencing workplace stress, burnout, difficulties with confidence or self-belief, challenges with career progression, or uncertainty about their next career step.
You may be feeling overwhelmed by workplace pressures, struggling to maintain boundaries, considering a career change, or finding that personal difficulties are affecting your confidence, wellbeing or effectiveness at work. We can explore the factors contributing to these difficulties and develop practical strategies to help you manage them and work towards your goals.
My Approach:
My therapeutic approach is tailored to your individual needs and draws on the best available evidence for the difficulties you are experiencing. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Trauma therapies including Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), and mindfulness-based approaches. Where appropriate, I integrate these approaches to provide personalised and effective therapy.
Online and Face-to-Face Therapy:
I offer secure video appointments to clients throughout the UK, providing the flexibility to have therapy from the comfort and privacy of your own home or another confidential space.
Online therapy can be particularly convenient if you are working. You may be able to arrange an appointment around your working day, use a quiet and confidential space at home or work, or schedule sessions on a working-from-home day. This can make therapy easier to fit around a busy schedule and minimise disruption to your working day.
For those who prefer face-to-face therapy, I also offer in-person appointments and am conveniently accessible to clients living in and around Haywards Heath, Hassocks, Lewes, Horsham, Brighton, Crawley and London.
My aim is to provide an experienced, professional and compassionate service where you feel listened to, understood and supported in making meaningful changes.
Areas of interest
Areas of Interest:
I have a particular interest in helping adults who have anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, bereavement, stress or who have experienced trauma or are struggling with its effects. Where appropriate, I use EMDR alongside other therapeutic approaches to help people make sense of distressing experiences, feel safer and regain confidence in their lives.
I also have a particular interest in helping professionals overcome psychological barriers that may be holding them back at work or in their careers. This may include burn out, self-doubt, feeling "not good enough", being overly self-critical, procrastination linked to a fear of getting things wrong or challenges in workplace relationships. Therapy can provide an opportunity to understand these patterns, develop greater self-belief, and find practical ways of working towards your professional and career goals.
