About me

Mr Alexis Schizas qualified from Guy's and St Thoma' Hospitals in 1999. His higher surgical training was undertaken in the South East London Region. His research was performed at St Thomas Hospital and was awarded his MD in 2011.

He was appointed as a Consultant Colorectal Surgeon to Guys and St Thomas' Hospitals in 2011. His specialist interests are in Robotic Colorectal Surgery, advanced primary, recurrent colorectal cancer, anal cancer surgery, laparoscopic colorectal surgery and pelvic floor pathology (bowel incontinence, defaecatory difficulties and prolapse).

He strives for the highest quality of patient care, teaching, presenting and publishing, locally, nationally and internationally.

In is a member of the ACPGBI and International Continence Society.

He is currently chair of the South East London ACN for colorectal cancer and Clinical Director for Gastrointestinal Medicine and Surgery at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
