About me

I am a Consultant Gastroenterologist with extensive experience in diagnosing and managing a wide range of digestive conditions. I have a particular specialist interest in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and advanced endoscopic procedures.
I look after patients with the full spectrum of gastrointestinal conditions, including:

Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis (IBD)
Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
Acid reflux and oesophageal conditions
Dyspepsia and other stomach disorders
Bowel and colorectal conditions
Liver and pancreatic disease

I perform both diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, including procedures involving the oesophagus, stomach, and colon. I am also an accredited colonoscopist for the NHS Bowel Cancer Screening Programme.
A key part of my practice is my specialist IBD clinic, where I provide ongoing, expert care for patients with Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, focusing on modern treatments and long-term management.
I trained at Cambridge University and University College Hospital, London, and completed further specialist training in Bristol, Dunedin (New Zealand), and Nottingham.
Alongside my clinical work, I have held several leadership roles in gastroenterology, including serving as President of both the Midlands Gastroenterology Society and the Derby Medical Society. I have also been Secretary of the British Society of Gastroenterology IBD Section and the UK & Ireland Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) Users Group, and have contributed to the UK IBD Registry board.

I am committed to providing high-quality, patient-centred care. I aim to explain conditions and treatment options clearly, so patients feel informed and confident in their care. My practice combines evidence-based treatments with a personalised approach to achieve the best outcomes.
