About me

I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor & Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist with over 25 years of clinical experience. I previously worked for Bupa Psychological Services and the Priory Healthcare team as well as many years as a private practitioner with ongoing clinical supervision. My initial training was in person centered therapy and I believe that empathy, respect and congruence are core values in any therapeutic relationship.

During the course of my career I have helped corporate and private clients deal with a range of emotional and mental health difficulties. My work as a therapist initially focuses on understanding the impact of the problem on your life so we might work on employment or relationship difficulties, managing stress and anxiety symptoms and mood management. My CBT training means that I am able to help identify the unhelpful thoughts and feelings that are impacting on your well being. It may also be important for you to understand how these problems have developed so you can make changes in your life to avoid these triggers in the future.
