Research interests
I am Co-Director of the Leeds Institute for Data Analytics at the University of Leeds
My research incorporates the use of observational and randomised data to deliver population-based studies of cardiovascular quality of care and clinical outcomes. This includes the use of multi-sourced electronic health records for trial design, outcomes capture and taxonomy of cardiovascular survivorship. I lead a research group in the Leeds Institute for Cardiovascular and Metabolic Medicine. I hold major research awards from NIHR, British Heart Foundation and Horizon 2020, and I have published over 300 manuscripts in peer reviewed journals; my research impacts clinical practice guidelines.
I hold international leadership positions including member of the EuroHeart Executive Committee, Chair of the EuroHeart Data Science Group, Chair of the ESC global NSTEMI registry, Founder of the ESC Quality Indicator Committee and member of the NICE Indicator Advisory Committee.
