About me
I have been working as a Chartered Clinical Psychologist in the NHS for the past 16 years. I work with people who have a wide range of difficulties including anxiety (social anxiety, panic attacks, work-related stress), depression, shame-based difficulties, PTSD, low self-esteem and confidence, and adjustment related difficulties. I use a number of approaches to aid change and recovery including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR), and systemic therapy. My main focus is to understand what it is you are struggling with, and together work out ways in which you might look after yourself. I have a special interest in working with people who have suffered traumas whether these are in their adult life, or go back to childhood experiences. I have a Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology, a Postgraduate Certificate in CBT for Psychological Trauma, and have completed Part 3 of EMDR training. Since qualifying I have worked in community mental health teams, specialist trauma services (including veterans) and early intervention services, all in the NHS. I currently head up the therapies team of a community mental health service in the NHS.
