About me

Dr Christopher Barringer is a highly experienced consultant who helps people manage and overcome long-term pain using advanced, targeted treatments. He specialises in interventional pain medicine and uses the latest techniques to treat a wide range of complex pain conditions; especially those that haven't responded to standard treatments.

Dr Barringer is an expert in both ultrasound and X-ray (fluoroscopic) guided procedures. He offers advanced options such as spinal cord stimulation and restorative multifidus stimulation, as well as radiofrequency treatments including standard thermal, cooled, and pulsed radiofrequency. These approaches are designed to reduce pain at its source and improve quality of life.

He cares for people with many different types of pain, including low back and neck pain, nerve pain, joint pain, and pain in the abdomen or pelvis. Patients value his thoughtful, patient-centred approach and his ability to find solutions when others have not.

Dr Barringer is based at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square, part of University College London Hospitals (UCLH). There, he is the Consultant Lead for the chronic pain medicine service and helps train future specialists as Faculty Tutor.
