About me
Dr William Rea FRCP FRCA FFPMRCA is a Consultant in Anaesthesia & Pain Medicine. He currently works as an NHS Consultant at both the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham and Gloucester Hospitals NHS Trust. He is interested in regional anaesthesia and teaching.
Areas of interest
Dr Rea is an expert in the management of chronic pain conditions such as Chronic Abdominal & Pelvic Pain, Chronic Back & Neck Pain, CRPS, fibromyalgia, Chronic Post-Surgical Pain and Neuropathic Pain;
Dr Rea carries out a number of pain procedures including Pudendal Nerve Block, Pelvic Floor Botox Injection, Radiofrequency Procedures of the Spine, SIJ and Large Joints (Hip, Knee, Shoulder); Ultrasound-guided injections of Muscle and Nerve
He has a special interest in abdominal and pelvic pain. He has worked in a national referral service for pelvic pain at UCLH in London, at University Hospitals Birmingham as well as the Birmingham Women's Hospital Endometriosis Service. He works with the Pelvic Floor MDT at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Trust;
