About me
Professor Judd qualified in Medicine from the University of Nottingham in 1998. Prior to entering surgical training, he gained broad clinical experience through training in Anaesthetics and Paediatrics.
He completed Higher Surgical Training in Otolaryngology (ENT) across several major centres, including Plymouth, Southampton, London, and the East Midlands. He subsequently undertook a specialist Fellowship in Neurotology and Otological Implantation at Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham.
Clinical Expertise and Specialist Interests
Professor Judd has a recognised subspecialist interest in:
Laryngology � voice disorders
Neurotology � disorders of the brain and ear, particularly balance, dizziness, and facial paralysis
He runs dedicated Voice, Balance, and Dizziness clinics for both adults and children, alongside Otology (ear) and general ENT clinics. He also has significant expertise in the management of complex facial pain and migraine.
Surgical Expertise
Professor Judd is highly experienced in advanced ear and laryngeal surgery, with particular expertise in:
Complex mastoid and ear surgery
Stapedectomy and ossiculoplasty
Minimally invasive Endoscopic Ear Surgery, for which he is regarded as one of the leading surgeons in the UK
In the field of Laryngology, he specialises in complex voice disorders and is experienced in minimally invasive, local anaesthetic techniques for voice restoration.
Facial Plastic Surgery and Aesthetic Practice
Outside the NHS, Professor Judd has a strong interest in Facial Plastic Surgery and Non-surgical Facial Aesthetics. He is a Member of the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery and is highly experienced in injectable treatments for facial rejuvenation.
He has successfully treated over 3,000 patients, with additional extensive experience in injectable therapies for:
Chronic migraine
Excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis)
Teaching and Academic Roles
Professor Judd is a recognised lecturer and educator, holding the prestigious BMJ Visiting Professorship in Balance Medicine. He has previously held roles as:
Honorary Associate Professor in Medical Education, University of Nottingham
Honorary Lecturer, University of Leicester
He has trained and mentored numerous medical students and junior doctors throughout his career.
