About me

I qualified as a clinical psychologist in 2007. I worked in the NHS until 2022, primarily in paediatric services with children with chronic, life-changing or terminal illnesses, as well as supporting their family members.

Outside of the NHS, I have had a broad experience, including providing private therapy for children, adolescents and adults, neuropsychological assessments and rehabilitation for children and young adults, as well being a guest lecturer at University College London. Since 2015, I have also worked as a psychologist in the media industry.

I have experience of working with people across the lifespan and within all areas of mental health, however my two main interests are:
• Work-related stress, including impostor syndrome, perfectionism and burnout
• Physical health related issues, including living with chronic illness, living with a partner/child with chronic illness, end-of-life (clients and relatives), and bereavement.

During my PsychD, I trained in cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), psychodynamic approaches and systemic therapy. Since qualifying, I have done courses in other therapeutic modalities, primarily Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I mainly use CBT and ACT in my practice but draw from other therapeutic approaches where this is helpful. I also have significant experience of providing short-term interventions.

Whilst I am unable to offer support for under 16s at present, I am able to offer parenting work in relation to supporting children where there is serious illness in the family.
