About me
Life is different right now for all of us and the pandemic is impacting in ways which are numerous and sometimes surprising. It may be that the situation you find yourself in is bringing up earlier issues from your life as well. If this is the case for you then I welcome you to come and enter into therapy with me so that we can explore these together. I appreciate that taking this step can feel daunting and a little scary but, in my experience over 20 years, it is helpful to talk with an independent person in a quiet confidential setting which, for the time being, is via zoom or another on line platform.
I currently work in private practice and have, in the past been a counsellor in a local GP surgery, working with adults on a one to one basis.
Psychodynamic counselling deals with deep rooted issues which usually have their basis in childhood experiences and relationships. These can go on to have a profound effect during later life, often giving rise to difficulties and problems, which need some help to work through and resolve. It is also very helpful for issues around relationships, self esteem, bereavement or any others listed below.
This kind of therapy can be offered both long term (open ended) or short term (with a fixed number of sessions).
You may already have a good idea of the underlying causes why you are feeling the way you are, but equally you may be puzzled by your feelings. In either case, whether you are experiencing emotional upset in any form, be it:
low mood
depression
anxiety
panic
bereavement
pain in your body
outbursts of anger or tears
upset sleep
relationship issues
sense of self / self esteem
frightening dreams
excessive fatigue
general malaise
then we may well be able to work together towards greater insight and consequently greater peace of mind.
